Male Breast Reduction Procedure
In some cases, especially in puberty-aged boys, male breasts can resolve spontaneously. More often however, surgery is required for cosmetic or psychological reasons. Treatment for breast reduction depends on several factors. For example, some medication and illegal drugs may cause breast tissue to develop in males. The procedure requires a strategically placed incision which allows Dr. Sullivan to surgically remove excess breast tissue.

The male breast reduction or gynecomastia procedure is performed at Sullivan Centre and will take approximately one and a half hours under anesthesia. It may be possible to have this treatment with a local anesthetic. Gynecomastia is performed on an outpatient basis; therefore, you can recover in the comfort of your own home. Most men can return to work in seven days and can resume normal exercise in a few weeks.
