For those of you who do not know me, I have been the patient coordinator at The Sullivan Centre for thirteen years. In the early days, I kept a private tally of how many patients asked me if my breasts were real or the product of a Dr. Christine Sullivan breast augmentation. I stopped keeping track of the breast augmentation inquiries somewhere in the 900 range. Time, babies, and middle age have certainly taken their toll on my breasts. I have seriously been contemplating a mastopexy (breast lift) and maybe even a slight breast reduction for a few months when I came across an article about bras (see my previous blog post). I did a quick Internet search and found Curv Appeal in Columbus, Ohio. I made a quick call and scheduled a private fitting.
I attended my private bra fitting last week. I have to say, I was more than a little nervous about how far off I was on my bra size. This actually caused me serious anxiety. I had flashbacks of junior high and bra shopping at the Stone and Thomas in Wheeling, WV, with my friends, where we used to sneak into the lingerie department and try on bras. I was always so afraid that my girlfriends would hate me for my C cup. Truth be told, that C cup should have been a DD cup… Fast forward 30 years, and I was buying 38C cups. At my fitting, I was happy to note that I only needed a 34H. I know that you probably have thoughts of a “Guinness Book of World Records” size in your mind, but seriously, the new bra size lifted my breasts into the correct position, which defined my waist AND caused no more shoulder grooving … all from a bra! AND as an added bonus: it’s pretty and feminine. This is not your Mother’s 18 hour Playtex!
Forget about the wonder bras and the miracle bras. I am cordially inviting you to see for yourself. We have invited Heather from Curv Appeal to visit our office for a special Breast Event! We will be scheduling private bra fittings on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Please contact us at 614-436-8888 to schedule your private bra-fitting consultation. I think you will be a surprised as I was. And remember ladies, size is nothing but a number!
